The influence of the drill bit and rod of the rock drill on the efficiency of rock drilling

Drill rods are indispensable machinery for mining machinery and equipment. Drill rods and drill bits are the working devices of the rock drill, which have a greater impact on the efficiency of rock drilling.
Drill rods, also called steel rods, are generally made of carbon steel with a hollow hexagonal shape or prototype. The purpose of the hollow is exclusively for the removal of blasthole powder.
The shape of the drill bit is selected according to the hardness and composition of the rock. There are three commonly used drill bits: single chisel, double chisel and cross shape. Single chisel bit is suitable for soft and medium hard rock without cracks; double chisel and cross shape drill bits can be used for general rocks.
There are two ways to connect the drill bit. One is that the drill rod and the drill bit are connected as a whole (that is, the drill bit), which can only be used in rocks with low hardness, so the fiber head is prone to wear and tear. At this time, the ground drill bit should be forged, commonly known as forging fiber or re-drilling. The other is that the drill rod is connected to the drill bit with a thread or taper, which is generally used for hard rocks. The cutting edge of the drill is inlaid with cemented carbide tool steel, commonly known as alloy drill. The advantage of this kind of drill bit is that the drill bit can be removed and replaced with a new one at any time after grinding, and it can work without replacing the drill rod, which improves work efficiency, saves steel materials and reduces the cost of fiber trimming.
The drill bit and the drill rod are used together during the drilling process. When drilling an eye, first use a shorter drill rod and a larger drill bit to open the eye, and then gradually add the drill rod to use a smaller drill bit. Therefore, the drill bit should be larger and then smaller, and gradually reduce to the required hole diameter. The drill rod should be short and then long. Change one by one to the required depth.
