Function of shank adapter:
The function of shank adapter is mainly to connect drilling tools, transfer energy and transfer flushing medium.
1. Transfer the impact energy transmitted from the impact part of the rock drill, the rotary torque transmitted from the rotary motor, etc. to the drill rod and drill bit, and finally to the rock to achieve the effect of crushing the rock.
2. Transfer the flushing medium to the front end of the drill rod and drill bit to achieve slag removal and continuous drilling. It not only has to withstand the high-frequency impact and strong torsion of the rock drill, but also has to withstand the erosion and corrosion of the flushing medium during underground operations. Therefore, the selected material must be high-quality steel with high strength, high toughness, good wear resistance and excellent corrosion resistance. The longer the service life of the shank, the higher the benefits it brings.

The shank undergoes overall carburizing, quenching and other heat treatments to ensure the stability and consistency of the heat treatment. The raw material composition is strictly tested using a spectrometer, the consistency of the dimensions is verified using three-coordinates, and the hardness gradient, metallography, and impact work of the furnace samples are tested to ensure the high standards and consistency of each batch.
