In order to use the threaded connection drill rods normally and ensure the normal failure mode (thread wear, fatigue fracture), the following points must be paid attention to:
1. Make sure that the thread of the drill rod and the connecting sleeve are well matched (preferably provided by the same manufacturer); the specifications (diameter of the drill rod) match: large specifications and high impact power rock drills, small specifications and small impact power rock drills, otherwise it is easy to produce early fracture;
2. Check the thread wear, if it is serious, it should be scrapped in time to avoid breaking during the drilling process and causing greater losses;
3. Check the bending of the drill rod. If it is more serious, stop using it (it can be used after straightening);
4. Be stable when opening the hole, and lower the working pressure parameter to avoid accidental damage;
5. The working parameters should be adjusted in time according to the rock condition and drill bit condition. Due to the gap between the quality of domestic drill rods and foreign top products, the working parameters should be adjusted appropriately; when drilling and slagging compensation, the drill bit should be replaced in time to improve the work efficiency of the drill rod; when the rock is soft, it should be lowered Impact pressure and propulsion force to extend the service life of the drill rod.
6. Choose the correct working parameters of the rock drill: For rock drills with adjustable parameters (impact pressure, impact power, impact frequency, propulsion force, rotation speed), it should be ensured that the large impact energy corresponds to the large size drill rod, and the small impact energy corresponds to the small size drill rod. Rod, otherwise it is easy to cause early fracture and failure of the drill rod;
7. It is recommended to use fast drill rods (MF drill rods) instead of conventional extension rods to improve drilling efficiency;
8. In the case of early fracture (small thread wear), we should notify our company in writing in time to deal with it in time.
The notification content mainly includes:
1) The model and actual working parameters of the rock drill used (impact pressure, impact power, impact frequency, propulsion force, rotation speed);
2) The model of the trolley used;
3) Rock type and hardness, construction site (open air, underground, other), drilling depth, drilling method (boring drilling, production drilling, horizontal, downward, upward, fan, etc.);
4) The manufacturer, specifications and usage conditions of the drill bit, shank tail and connecting sleeve used with the drill rod;
5) Statistics of drill rod fracture:
A. Fracture location, life, thread wear (severe, slight, no wear), quantity;
B. Planned average life span;
C. The average life and failure modes of other manufacturers under similar rock drilling conditions.
