Maintenance guide for down-the-hole drills. Do these five things to extend the service life of the drill.
1. Regularly check the hydraulic oil. The down-the-hole drill is a semi-hydraulic vehicle. Except for the impact using compressed air, the rest of the functions are realized by the hydraulic system. Therefore, the quality of the hydraulic oil plays a vital role in whether the hydraulic system can work properly.
①. Open the hydraulic oil tank and check whether the color of the hydraulic oil is clear and transparent. If it has been emulsified or deteriorated, it must be replaced immediately. If the drilling rig is used frequently, the hydraulic oil is generally replaced once every six months.
Mark: It is forbidden to mix two types of hydraulic oil!
②. The hydraulic oil used in the drilling rig is anti-wear hydraulic oil, which contains antioxidants, rust inhibitors and anti-foaming agents, etc., which can effectively prevent the early wear of hydraulic components such as oil pumps and hydraulic motors. Commonly used anti-wear hydraulic oils are: YB-N32, YB-N46, YB-N68, etc. The larger the suffix number, the higher the kinematic viscosity of the hydraulic oil. Different hydraulic oils can be selected according to the ambient temperature. In summer, the higher viscosity YB-N46 and YB-N68 hydraulic oils are generally used, and in winter, the lower viscosity YB-N32 and YB-N46 hydraulic oils are used. In view of the fact that some anti-wear hydraulic oils are still marked with old brands, such as YB-N68 marked as 40# thickened hydraulic oil, YB-N46 and YB-N32 marked as 30# and 20# respectively, users must pay attention to the model when purchasing.
2. Regularly clean the oil filter and oil tank. Impurities in the hydraulic oil will not only cause the hydraulic valve to fail, but also aggravate the wear of hydraulic components such as oil pumps and hydraulic motors. Therefore, the structure is equipped with an oil suction filter and an oil return filter to ensure the cleanliness of the circulating oil in the system as much as possible. However, since hydraulic components will wear out during work, impurities are occasionally brought in when adding hydraulic oil. Therefore, regular cleaning of the oil tank and oil filter is the key to ensuring oil cleanliness, preventing hydraulic system failure and extending the life of hydraulic components.
1. The oil suction filter should be cleaned once a month. If the filter element is found to be damaged, it should be replaced immediately!
2. The return oil filter is installed above the oil tank and connected to the return oil pipe. When cleaning, just twist out the filter element and clean it. The return oil filter should be cleaned once a month. If the filter element is damaged, it needs to be replaced immediately!
3. The oil tank is the intersection of oil suction and return oil, and it is also the place where impurities are most likely to deposit and concentrate, so it should be cleaned frequently. The oil drain plug should be opened every month to drain some of the oil to flush out the bottom impurities. It should be thoroughly cleaned every six months and all the oil should be drained (it is best not to use it twice). After the oil tank is cleaned, add new hydraulic oil.
3. Clean the oil mist device and add lubricating oil in time. The submersible drilling rig uses an impactor to achieve rock drilling. Good lubrication is a necessary condition to ensure the normal operation of the impactor. Since compressed air often contains moisture and the pipeline is not cleaned properly, there is often some moisture and impurities at the bottom of the oil mist unit after a period of use. All of these will affect the lubrication and life of the impactor. Therefore, if the oil mist unit does not produce oil or there is moisture and impurities in the oil mist unit, it should be removed in time.
Mark: When adding lubricating oil, you must first close the main air inlet valve, and then open the impact air valve to remove the remaining air in the pipe to avoid damage. It is strictly forbidden to operate without lubricating oil!
